A 'hidden' gem upstairs on Devon Street West New Plymouth. Amazing friendly sincere service with food to die for. The blend of Singaporean/Malaysian cuisine was absolutely superb both in terms of choice and exceptional taste. Thank you Seletar for a magnificent dining experience. We will be back - many times !!

I went with friends recently and absolutely loved the food. I had the Seafood Mee Goreng and didn't regret my decision. It was superb. The atmosphere was good and the restaurant was chokka (Saturday night). Considering how busy it was, the meals came out in reasonable time. For a Friday or Saturday night, I would recommend you book - Linleyfish

Had a fabulous meal enjoyed by all. Food delicious and service second to none. thank you so much for a great night to celebrate my retirement:):) - Lucille Burton

Had a great time at Seletar exploring their delicious cuisine, and I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood with noodles. We also had the wontons and chicken wings and they were truly beautiful. The service was also very professional and we applaud Elsa and her team for a wonderful night. Definitely going back. Sorry I have no pics. I was more interested in eating, Lance Mepham

First time to Seletar, great food and amazing service!

I'm originally from Singapore and this is a home away from home. One will be spoilt for choice as one gets to pick from Chinese, Indian or Malay food. Recommended starters: satay, gado gado salad and Chinese rojak. Must- have main courses: Nasi lemak, chicken rice, crabs (pick from either chilli crab, black pepper crab or lemak curry crab) and seafood mee goreng. Finish of with sweet endings: sago gula Melaka (sago with palm sugar and coconut milk) or kueh dadar (coconut crepes with palm sugar syrup). Wash this all down with a Singapore Sling (as good as the one at the Raffles Hotel) or the in-house invention of the refreshing Seletar Mojito. This is the most exciting restaurant in the New Plymouth dining scene! - Karen Teo

Had been meaning to try this restaurant as had heard good things about the choice of food and the flavours. I was not disappointed. It was a last minute decision to go out for a meal and we were very pleased we did. As we walked up the stairs, we were greeted and welcomed with a broad smile. Our table was by the window and well spaced from any others. Unfortunately for the restaurant they did not have any other bookings for that night, but were doing a good trade on takeaways. We ordered Singapore Slings to drink and they were flavoursome and very colourful. Make sure you are not the driver!! We started with a Roti Jala and shared between 3. Wonderful and just the right size. The Nasi Lemak and Beef Rendang were just the right kind of spicy we were looking for. The seafood Mee Goreng just melted in your mouth. Chef came to check that spice level was what we had hoped for and chatted for a while. Thank you. We had a great evening and wonderful food. We will be back soon. - Elizabeth Stuart

We visited Seletar with our 10 year. The restaurant is upstairs with a lovely ambience. Prices are very fair and portions are great. The food is just lovely, highly recommend the satay stick entree with a stunning peanut sauce, and the Beef Rendang is fabulous. The gentleman that looked after us was so lovely friendly and attentive, a clean dining experience and the large picture on the wall of the Marina Bay Sands and surrounding area in Singapore made us miss Singapore. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous service! Food was amazing! So flavoursome and authentic. Great atmosphere... couldn’t fault our evening.

- Jenny Thomson

Tick! I really hope this restaurant does well, the food is very good. I havent had a better laksa in New Plymouth before. We needed a good Singapore Malaysian option in town! The satay entree with peanut sauce was juicy & delicious. Wait staff are attentive, maybe a tad overdone but still a great dining experience.-

Went here with friends last night (Wed 10 June 2020). We had a cross section of Entrées followed by Murtabak, Chicken Fried Rice and Chilli Crab (shared). The flavours were authentic, portion size excellent, and the spice heat was right on the money. The four of us are foodies and we were all very impressed. The only other comment I would make is to encourage our fellow New Plymouthians to get in there and support these guys - Lockdown has been a difficult time for hospitality and if we want to see these guys remain in town as a dining out option, we need to support them. You will not be disappointed! - Geoff N

We had the pleasure of trying some amazing Singapore cuisine from Seletar. Couldn't be happier with our experience, very friendly and helpful staff and the meals we ordered were beautifully presented and extremely tasty. We will be recommending this restaurant to everyone we know.Thank you for bring your delicious for into Taranaki. - James & Rachel Brett

Can't fault this at all. We just discovered this and hadn't tried Singaporean food before so decided to give it a go post lockdown. The food was amazing especially the seafood mee goreng, though the traditional fried carrot cake we had was also amazing. Prices are so reasonable that we were able to try a range of starters which were all delicious. And the service couldn't have been better, more informative or friendly. We will definitely be back.

A delicious meal at Seletar, New Plymouth. The waiter was very helpful, describing each of the dishes. The food was absolutely divine. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends who want lovely food with excellent service. - Clive Oates

Nestled above the street-life, this cosy restaurant will transport you to the taste sensation that is Singapore. The food is spicy, and flavourful, a delightful blend of Malaysian, Chinese, and Indian, food cultures with European influences dating from the Island nation's colonial past. If you fancy something a little different this would be a great place to try. Great for family and friend grouping as the food lends itself to sharing. The service was excellent as were the cocktails! - Melissa Hodd

Have been a couple of times. I recommend the satay sticks, Nasi Lemak and Murtabak. Friendly and attentive service with a smile looking forward to trying the crabs and the rendang in the future - Hine O'Carroll

Food was fantastic, excellent service, great drinks and nice atmosphere! - Christina Hannam

We have visited twice in two weeks. This great food and a change from the usual Westernised Asian food that is served in this part of the world. No complaints about the service either. - Scotty Denholm
